Pat Payne started Spindletop Draperies in 1972 with six sewing machines and six employees making custom draperies. Almost four decades later, the company carries the full line of Hunter Douglas products and offers blinds, shades, shutters, drapery and custom bedding. Now with daily operations handled by Pat’s son, Tyler, the business employs 24 workers at its 12,500 square-foot facility on Bardstown Road.
