About Us

Kurt and his father Gene Evers founded The Blind Alley in 1984. Kurt now runs the business, with the full time assistance of his wife, Claudia, and a very dedicated staff.

Kurt has been in the business since 1967 when he started as an installers helper at Eastside Drapery in the Eastgate area of Bellevue while attending high school at Newport High.

As the leader of our store's window fashions management team, Kurt will make sure your experience with our Window Fashions Gallery store is a positive one.

Claudia Evers has been with The Blind Alley since the first day we opened in 1984.

Claudia manages our Sales Staff and our Installation Department, coordinating appointments for our in-home designers and our full-time installers.

Additionally, Claudia handles all of our custom drapery and fabric treatment orders with our workrooms and helps out in our Showroom frequently.

Claudia's goal is to make sure you have a thoroughly satisfying shopping experience - every step of the way.

Jan Evers has also been with The Blind Alley since the first day we opened in 1984.

Jan spends most of her time helping our customers in our Service Department. She coordinates our Installers for in-home Service Calls and helps customers in the store with any service related issues with their custom window coverings.

Jan's goal is to ensure your dealings with us go smoothly and that our retail team fulfills all your window fashions needs.

Matt Evers started in the Shipping and Receiving Department at The Blind Alley when we first opened in 1984. At the time, Matt was attending high school at Bellevue High.

He now works full-time as one of our Hunter Douglas Certified Professional Installers.

As a Hunter Douglas Certified Professional Installer, Matt has undergone advanced, hands-on training in a variety of installation techniques. You can be assured that he is skilled to measure and install virtually any window fashion - including the most complex specialty windows and other unique situations.

Julie has been in Group II Associates, our Commercial Department, since 1986 and now operates it as our primary Project Estimator and Project Manager.

Group II Associates was founded by Gene Evers and Kurt Evers in 1982 and has supplied window treatments for many of the highrise buildings built in the Greater Seattle area since that time.

Richard has been with The Blind Alley since 1990 as our lead installer and service technician.

Tami has been with The Blind Alley since 1990 as one of our experienced and qualified In-Home Window Fashion Designers.

Tami was awarded first place in the Specialty Windows category at the 1998 International Window Coverings Expo in Baltimore.

Janeen has been with The Blind Alley since 1994 and orders all of our custom window treatments from our suppliers.

Joanie has been with The Blind Alley since 1995 first as a Sales Consultant in our Showroom and now as one of our experienced and qualified In-Home Window Fashion Designers.

Dan has been with The Blind Alley since 1997 as one of our full-time installers.

Mark has been working part-time in our Repair Department for several years and in in 2010 joined us full-time as our Repair Technician.

Mark has attended repair training sessions by Hunter Douglas as the representative for The Blind Alley and is skilled in the repair of all Hunter Douglas products.

Emily has been with The Blind Alley since 2011 working in our Showroom and Hunter Douglas Gallery as one of our In-Store Window Fashion Consultants.
